Portable brain scanner to use Bluetooth technology
October 26th, 2005
Bluetooth technology will aid medical crews and save precious minutes in treating stroke victims. A new lightweight brain scanner being developed by Dr Alistair McEwan of University College, London, will use electrical impedance tomography, an imaging technique, to detect damage to brain and determine the type of stroke. Using Bluetooth wireless technology, the scanner will upload the data to a computer aboard the ambulance.
