Boost Mobile Expands IM Services
November 4th, 2005
Boost Mobile, the popular pay as you go provider supported by Sprint-Nextel, announced today its new Instant Messenger (IM) services for its popular handsets. Users of Boost Mobile’s network will now be able to access their favorite Instant Messenger services thanks to OZ Communications. The OZ messenger client can be downloaded from the Boost Mobile website or direct from the web browser in the user’s handset, offering access to AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo1 Messenger and MSN Messenger services.
Boost Mobile is offering the service at a cost of 99 cents per day per instant messaging service. The per-day charge only applies when the application is used and offers customers unlimited access during that 1-day period. Earlier this month, Cingular Wireless inked a similar deal with OZ to give its customers access to their IM accounts from AOL, Yahoo! and MSN on their cell phones as well. The OZ Mobile Email Solution, a consumer centric mobile e-mail application, powers Cingular’s Mobile Email service.
