Google Local for Mobile Released

Google today released its mobile application called Local for Mobile. This new application is totally free to download but connection charges may apply (see your service provider for details). Local for Mobile is similar to the popular Google Maps (now known as Google Local) available from your desktop computer. The mobile application shares common features with its big brother offering detailed directions, maps that scroll as the user pans and the ability of satellite imagery. Local for mobile is currently limited in availability depending on your handset and provider, sorry no BlackBerry or Palm handsets at this time.
