Sierra Wireless To Provide EV-DO Module In HP Notebooks

Sierra Wireless Sierra Wireless today announced that the Sierra Wireless MC5720 EV-DO PCI Express Mini Card embedded module is to supply mobile broadband connectivity to the new HP Compaq nc6140 Notebook PC. The HP Compaq nc6140 Notebook PC operates on Verizon Wireless’ Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO) network, which allows customers to connect at broadband speeds to corporate networks, email and the Internet, even while traveling. Verizon subscribers equipped with the nc6140 can expect download speeds of 400 to 700 kbps while within the Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess Coverage Area.

The HP Compaq nc6140 Notebook PC is available immediately with a starting price of $1,399.
