Option Releases 1.8 Mbps HSDPA Data Card

Option Wireless released today what may be the fastest commercially available data card; the Option GlobeTrotter HSDPA delivers speeds of up to 1.8 Mbps. The new GlobeTrotter card will fall back to EDGE or GPRS networks in regions where HSDPA are not available. Key features include:
- Multimode HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM
- Transparent handover between UMTS and GSM/EDGE
- HSDPA and UMTS High-speed data (up to 1.8 Mbps)
Serving nearly 3.4 million customers, Mobilkom Austria will become one of the first operators to offer Option’s new HSDPA data card when it starts retailing the Vodafone Mobile Connect Card Broadband (HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE) today. At the same time, a free software upgrade to HSDPA will be made available (at www.A1.net/hsdpaupgrade) to any Mobilkom’s customers who previously purchased the UMTS+EDGE ‘HSDPA Ready’ card.
