Cingular 8125 Owners Manual
February 17th, 2006
UPDATED
Cingular Wireless released last week the all new 8125 Windows Mobile 5 pocket PC. The 8125 is packed with a whole mess of new and interesting goodies, but is lacking one bit of important information; the owners manual. Currently the HTCAmerica.net website does not offer the manual for the 8125 Pocket PC, but after hours of searching we were able to obtain a pdf copy. It’s a 5mb file I can see this killing our bandwidth very soon. Please save a copy locally so reserve our bandwidth for others, Thanks!
It appears that the manual we offer is for the 8100 (non camera) we have discovered that Cingular has released the manual for the 8125:

I googled for the manual and got your link and comment. It really helped me to setup some of the features that I wasn’t using so far. Thanks a lot.

well done – good find and thanks very much for sharing. I was sure it was on the CD that came with the phone but NOT! Thanks again for fixing Cingular’s ooooooops!

FYI – the manual is for the Cingular 8100, not the 8125. Very similiar devices, but the 8100 does not have a camera whereas the 8125 does have a camera.

MWC, you are correct. I will have an 8125 dedicated manual very soon..

I just got this phone, and am still finding my way around it. Do any of you know how to assign a special ringtone for a particular contact? Also, do you know if this phone allows for mp3 or wav files to be used as ringtones?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks!
I switched from my Treo 600 to the 8125…still getting used to it. My biggest challeng? No frigg’n manual.
Thanks for the link!!

I AM GIVING THIS PHONE BACK AND GETTING A TREO BECAUSE TREO HAS A MANUAL YOU CAN COMPREHENSIVELY READ AND LEARN QUICKLY HOW TO NAVIGATE. THERE IS NO MANUAL IN MY PHONE KIT AND MY LOCAL INDIANAPOLIS MARKET CINGULAR REPS ARE AT A LOSS AND CANNOT HELP SETUP EMAIL, EXPLAIN WHY I CANNOT LOG IN TO MY YAHOO EMAIL FROM THE 8125. I DO NOT HAVE MANUAL TO FIGURE OUT WHY THESE CONNECTION POPUPS KEEP POPPING UP ALL DAY EVERY HOUR. THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.
March 14th, 2006 at 11:24 pm
You are correct; there should be more product knowledge available from the providers.
As for the Yahoo email; unless you are a paying Yahoo subscriber you will not have POP access to the account and will not be able to access the email from the mail client (Outlook). You should be able to login from the site of wap.yahoo.com, that should work fine. As for the connection popup; that is most likely due to having the email set to check the mailbox every hour.
Just my $.02

Just got this phone and couldn’t be more excited about it. I love playing with gadgets and figuring them out. However, there are features that I’m sure I’m missing. Thought that I overlooked the manual somewhere in the box and thought that I misplaced it. I thought why not Google for a 8125 manual and there it is. Glad to see that there’s someone out there that cares and reads minds. Having this manual will make life easier.. Thanks!

I and my 15yo son have this phone, now we have the manual(s).
Still learning

The PDF manual for the phone is on the setup CD disk that comes with the phone. Can anyone tell me if Cingular “charges”for bits while using a WiFi connection?
March 18th, 2006 at 8:47 pm
Since you are not using their data network you will not incur additional charges.

This phone is relly easy to navigate. A monkey could do it. But I appreciate the online manual. My last phone was a Treo 650. I wanted the 700 but could’nt wait for cingular to release it. Hey Treo fans, sorry for the news but the 8125 blows the Treo family right out of the water. Sooo True!!!

Thanks so much for the info. I love my 8125. There are some issues, but nothing too serious. Interested in discussing programs with users. I want to try bluetooth for printing. Other stuff too.

Oh, wifi is at no charge.
I currently am using cingular data for this phone that is $39. I think that is too high. I will only use for this month. The feature is great when wifi not available, but that is too much to pay for limted usage.
I thought their (cingular) media net would work for Internet, but that is for non-Windows CE devices.

Thank youuuuuu soooooo muchhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
I just recieved my Cingular 8125 without a manual? I was sure that it was over looked when packed. So I called 611 to talk to a Customer Service Rep. She did not seem to know that the manual dose not go with the phone. She thought that it was over looked as well. I thank her for telling me to check the Cinguar site’s; phone support. I entered the help question “how do I get a manual for Cingular 8125?” and up came customer forum “Ron Ann Arbor” I am so thankful to be able to have it downloaded now. It has 192 pages way to many to print, but I have what I need to use the phone. I love it. My Treo 600 froze up last May and is still trying to be repairded. I gave up and bought a new PDA phone. I will never own a Treo again!! Dont buy one. Thanks Cingular for such an awsome phone, but please print manuals and put it with the phone when sold.

Is there a way to change the camera settings and make it look more clear? Mine looks a bit fuzzy and my friend has one also but his looks much better than mine.

Thanks for having this manual link available. Google brought me to your site. I like the phone a lot, but I’m disappointed that I can’t seem to be able to personalize the ringtone for each caller
December 6th, 2006 at 6:45 pm
Cingular does not care anymore about customer srevice? They will not send, or supply manuals with their phones. I will not do business with them again.
December 9th, 2006 at 2:40 pm
cool.
thanks for providing the manual so much. i can really use so many more features now.
doesn’t the need for a manual increase with the complexity of the device? even a dumb usb drive comes with instructions.
wonder what cingular is thinking. is this the case with treo and iPAQs?

where can i download the wizard, so i can take pictures of of my phone and put them onto my computer. because i cant use the usb because ive lost the disc that comes with the phone
March 3rd, 2007 at 11:35 pm
I am not sure what you mean by “wizard”, but I think all you need is ActiveSync; that should be able to upload pictures to your computer from your phone.
