Updater 1.10 for Treo 700W Released
April 19th, 2006
We reported on April 5th of the Messaging and Security Feature Pack that Verizon and Palm were set to release for the Treo 700W. The Palm support site now contains the step-by-step instructions for updating and trouble shooting the all new AKU2 update.
And now, with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP), the Treo 700w smartphone integrates directly with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to enable Direct Push Technology for email, calendar, contacts, and tasks synchronization. Roll out and manage your company’s Treo 700w smartphones without the need for third-party middleware software or extra server hardware.
Key Features of MSFP
- Direct Push Email Technology that enables the Treo 700w to automatically receive email, calendar, contacts and tasks wirelessly as soon as it arrives on Exchange Server 2003 SP2
- Over-the-air lookup of a company’s Exchange Global Address List (GAL), providing employees with quick access to colleagues’ email and contact information
- Added security features for IT administrators, such as over-the-air device password policy enforcement and remote wipe of the device in case it is lost or stolen
