Cingular Announces Push Email for 8125 and 2125 Smartphones
June 13th, 2006
Cingular Wireless announced today plans to release the long awaited Messaging and Security Feature Pack upgrade. The Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) will be available as an upgrade starting June 19 for the Cingular branded 2125 and 8125 Smartphone and Pocket PC’s. The Microsoft MSFP can synchronize a users inbox, calendar, contacts and tasks wirelessly to any compatible Windows Mobile 5 handset and eliminates the need for third party enterprise solutions.
Microsoft Direct Push Technology delivers a great wireless email capability that is seamlessly integrated with Exchange Server 2003. This greatly improves the ability of Cingular corporate customers to rapidly deploy wireless e-mail by simplifying the enterprise messaging architecture. We believe this important and powerful addition to Cingular’s business solutions portfolio will lead to broader adoption of wireless e-mail in the enterprise sector and further extend Cingular’s worldwide market share leadership in this space.
Cingular customers with the 2125 or 8100 series devices and access to corporate Exchange Server can download the update for free from www.cingular.com/microsoft starting on June 19.
