Cingular Powers on 3G in San Antonio
July 17th, 2006
Cingular Wireless recently powered up UMTS networks in San Antonio Texas. The new 3G/HSDPA network allows high-speed access to cell phones designed for the higher speed, as well as process wireless data over consumers’ high-speed capable phones or on a laptop.
San Antonio is the latest city to receive HSPDA services following shortly after New York City in late June of this year.
Cingular currently offers 3G services on the LG CU500 handset, a new addition to the 3G handset offering, along with the LG CU320 and Samsung SGH-ZX10 handsets. Cingular plans add several other handsets to its product line, including adding support for HSDPA, in the coming months.
