EV-DO Testing Draining Customers Cell Phone Batteries
August 8th, 2006Residents of Sarasota Florida had reported issues with their EV-DO capable handsets due to testing being performed by Verizon Wireless. Verizon plans to release its CDMA2000 1x EV-DO in this market later this month, but late night testing was causing some customers to experience premature battery drain on their handsets.
Some cell phone enthusiasts recommend disabling EV-DO service on handsets in order to extend battery life.
