August 8th, 2006
Franklin Wireless announced today the launch of Franklin’s CDU-550, the industry’s unique mobile broadband USB device based on CDMA2000 1x EV-DO technology. This device is certified to operate on the Sprint Power Vision Network.
Concurrent to the completion of certification by Sprint, Franklin also signed a Business Solution Partner Agreement with Sprint. Under the agreement, Sprint or Sprint authorized sales agents may solicit sales of Franklin’s CDU-550 USB modem to its potential customers.
Franklin’s CDU-550 is the industry’s very first 1x EV-DO USB device, and will be available immediately through Franklin Wireless as well as to business customers through Sprint sales channels later this month. This revolutionary product will enable tablet PC and MAC laptop and desktop users that do not have a PCMCIA card slot to connect to the Internet or company information with broadband-like download speeds using Sprint Mobile Broadband Services operating on the Sprint Power Vision Network.
