
T-Mobile and RIM Introduce the BlackBerry Pearl

T-Mobile USA and Research In Motion announced today news of the ultra-sleek BlackBerry Pearl. The Pearl is unlike any previous BlackBerry handheld ever released. Offering a unique trackball style center navigation key, 1.3 mega-pixel camera and multimedia capabilities, RIM is definitely looking to break into a new market for its devices.
Pearl features include:
- 1.3 megapixel camera with zoom and built-in flash
- Ultra-bright 240×260 color display
- Support for polyphonic, mp3 and MIDI ring tones
- 64MB built-in flash memory, expandable via MicroSD
- Multimedia player with stereo headset jack for MP3 and AAC music files, as well as MPEG4 and H.263 video formats
- Bluetooth
- SureType keyboard technology
Besides all the great new features, the BlackBerry Pearl will also support all the legacy features that made BlackBerry handhelds as popular as they are today. The new Pearl will be available from T-Mobile beginning Tuesday, September 12th.
