Cingular to Release new HP iPAQ

Cingular to Release new HP iPAQCingular Wireless and HP announced plans today to release the new hw6920 series handheld. The new hw6925 and hw6920 handhelds are identical in all features except the 6920 will not offer a camera. The new handsets will offer connectivity via Cingular’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, as well as Wi-Fi, infrared and Bluetooth.

The built-in GPS receiver will enable Cingular subscribers to take advantage of the providers first location based solution powered by TeleNav.

The new HP hw6920 series handsets ships with Windows Mobile 5.0 and includes the Microsoft Messaging and Security Feature Pack standard, allowing subscribers to connect to corporate email with out the need of additional email solutions.


HP hw6920 features include:

  • Mini SD slot
  • Integrated Bluetooth 1.2
  • Speakerphone
  • 3.0″ transflective TFT display
  • Integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b)
  • Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE

The iPAQ hw6920 series is available from Cingular Wireless’ B2B sales organization for as low as $359.99 for business customers with a two-year contract and qualifying voice and data plans. The iPAQ hw6920 series also is available through hp.com and select HP channel partners. Public availability is scheduled for October 31st.
