January 8th, 2007China Mobile, China’s largest telecoms operator, will probably take the charge of TD-SCDMA network construction in March, reported by SinoCast
Secretary-general of TD-SCDMA Industry Alliance Yang Hua expressed that the mainland should have the priority of getting the license of TD-SCDMA, so as to give the mainland enough time to be competitive with foreign 3G technologies. This march is considered to be the right time for the issuance of the license and the starting of the network construction and to live up to the commitment to complete the network before 2008 Beijing Olympics.
China Mobile’s local branches are discussing the issue of purchasing TD-SCDMA equipment with suppliers, which suggests that it will probably get the TD-SCDMA license.
The TD-SCDMA technology in China is mature enough to be put into commercial practice said experts.
Its display at the world telecom exhibition in Hong Kong in 2006 had proved its competitiveness in the whole industrial chain from network to mobile phones.
