Nokia Releases 770 Internet Tablet OS Update

Nokia had reported in May plans to release a software upgrade for the 770 Internet Tablet; Nokia has come through and has now made it available on the Nokia Europe site. The 2006 OS update includes support for Google Talk VoIP, instant messaging and more. The updated OS can be found at europe.nokia.com.

Nokia Sues Over Copycat Phones

Nokia says that it has initiated a lawsuit in Beijing, China against two companies for manufacturing and selling mobile phones that copy the proprietary and legally protected industrial designs of the Nokia 7260 mobile phone model. Nokia Siemens Form Networks Venture

Nokia and Siemens announced plans to merge their phone-equipment businesses to form Nokia Siemens Networks. The 50-50 joint venture will concentrate on fixed and mobile network infrastructure and services, according to the companies. Specifically, Nokia will combine its network business group with Siemens’ carrier-related operations.

Qualcomm and Nokia Continue Patent Wars
