Google Launches New Mobile Gmail ClientGoogle announced today the release of its new Java based mobile email client. Access to your Gmail account from a mobile phone is nothing new, but Google engineers had taking it one step further to make it a more simple and seamless task.

The new application is only available for Java enabled handsets, or devices that can have Java installed separately.

Sprint has made it easy for their subscribers by adding a link from the Sprint Power Vision home page.

XM Satellite Radio and Cingular Announce Streaming Music Service

Cingular XM Radio MobileXM Satellite Radio and Cingular Wireless announced today a new partnership to allow Cingular subscribers to access 25 new XM music channels from their mobile handsets. Release is scheduled for November 6th, and can run customers an addition $8.99 per month.

XM Radio Mobile is a key part of Cingular Music, the most complete and compelling mobile music service available today. We are confident Cingular customers will love having 25 channels of XM programming with them wherever they are.

The XM Radio Mobile application is a product of MobiTV which is already supported by many wireless providers. Alltel Wireless released a similar feature earlier this year.

Cingular Releases Motorola V365

Motorola V365Cingular Wireless released today the V365 from Motorola. The V365 is a mid-range flip style phone offering features commonly found on pricier model handsets. To start the V365 is a tri-band world phone, tri-band only since it lacks the 900 MHz band for use in some European and Asian countries. PTT (Push to Talk) is also available on the V365, which now gives Cingular customers more options.

V365 features include:

  • VGA camera phone with 4x zoom
  • Bluetooth
  • Digital audio music player
  • Speakerphone
  • Push to Talk
  • Instant messaging – AOL, MSN, Yahoo! and ICQ
  • Picture and ringer ID

The V365 from Motorola is available from Cingular for $100.00 after rebates and a new two-year service agreement.

Embarq Releases Press & Talk

EMBARQ Launches Press & TalkEmbarq announced today the immediate availability of its new service titled Wireless Press & Talk. The service is almost identical to push to talk service offered by the parent company Sprint-Nextel. Wireless Press & Talk allows users to operate their wireless phone as a walkie-talkie like device with the push of a button. Embarq subscribers can add the service to compatible devices for $5.95 a month.

Initially the service will be available on the new Sanyo 2400 which is being offered for $29.99 with a new two-year service agreement.
