


Motorola and Warner Music Group Announce new Partnership

Warner Music Group and Motorola announced a new partnership to create music based products and experiences for mobile devices. The new agreement will allow Motorola to offer customers exclusive content, including premium products such as pre-loaded and over-the-air delivered full-length songs, ringtones, ringback tones, mobile music videos, wallpapers and more.
Establishing a global partnership with Warner Music Group opens the door for exciting entertainment opportunities for Motorola consumers. Exclusive access to content from Warner’s world-renowned roster of artists enables our mobile phone consumers to further enrich and personalize their mobile multimedia experiences. We think this venture has potential to serve as a successful template for building relationships with other music and entertainment entities around the world.
The first product expected to be offered is the MOTO Experience Pack; a single file downloaded to a mobile device that would contain several music based products. MOTO Experience Packs will be available in the second half of 2007.

SlingPlayer Mobile Announced for Palm Treo

Palm and Sling Media announced today the new SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm handsets. The new SlingPlayer will be available for both Palm and Windows based Treo handsets including the recently announced Treo 750. SlingPlayer Mobile is a software client that gives Slingbox customers the ability to watch and control their home TV from a wirelessly enabled smartphone.
We continue to see more customer interest in mobile TV, driven by our expanded platform support and the ability to watch the programming that matters to each customer. SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS takes the familiar SlingPlayer Mobile experience and puts that power in the hands of customers who love the Palm OS interface. By making it readily available on the most popular mobile platforms, we continue to meet our objective of creating a quality mobile TV experience for all consumers.
SlingPlayer Mobile is expected to be available during the first quarter of ’07, pricing has not been released at this time.

RIM and Yahoo Release new mobile application

RIM and Yahoo have released Yahoo! Go for Mobile 2.0, an application to bring your Yahoo account to your RIM handheld quicker and easier. BlackBerry users can download a beta version of Yahoo! Go 2.0 on select handsets including the 7130 and 8700 series handsets as well as the new Pearl.

Sprint Announces Moto Q from Motorola

Sprint and Motorola recently announced the long awaited Moto Q by Motorola; no longer will Verizon hold exclusive rights to the Q. The Moto Q offered from Sprint operates on the Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone Platform with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack and gives customers easy access to mobile email, web, calendar, music, video and phone functionality in one pocket-sized device.
Moto Q features include:
- Bluetooth (1.2)
- Speakerphone
- 1.3 MP camera with flash and 6x digital zoom & video capture
- mini SD card slot for additional storage
- QWERTY keyboard
The Moto Q is expected to release in mid February, pricing information has not been released.

Sanyo M1 Announced by Sprint

Sprint and Sanyo announced today the release of the new M1 by Sanyo; Sprint’s first mobile phone to offer 1GB of internal memory. As Sprint’s first phone with 1GB of internal memory, the M1 by Sanyo features storage for up to 16 hours of music and other multimedia files including pictures, video clips and voice recording.
